Grisaille - a starting place

I thought that I might show a work in progress using grisaille. Here is a picture of rural France that I have drawn from a photo from my recent trip to France.  I would say it was a sketch, but my friend tells me that my value sketches turn into frameable drawings..   As you can see, I have drawn a pretty detailed rendition of the photo and have established some clear values in the picture.  Tomorrow, I will be adding color to this drawing.  Watch and see what happens....
